The club kicked off a new decade last weekend as our table topping, Intermediate Girls team made their way north for the first tournament of 2020.

RAK Ropairí were the hosts and the girls started the day with Sharjah as the opposition. The Gaels may have been still in holiday mode in the first half trailing by two at the break. But any Christmas cobwebs were blown off in the second half as they scored 1-2 to run out comfortable winners.
Next up were Abu Dhabi A and again it took till the second half for the girls to kick into gear, when an impressive display of football saw them overcome Na Fianna by a few scores.

The final group game of the day was against Abu Dhabi B. Despite a spirited performance, Jumeirah won well in the end to top the group.
This set up a semi final against Kuwait. An understrength Harps team along with another impressive display and good ball retention in the second half, meant the Gaels reached their third final in a row, and a chance to secure yet another title.

Earlier opponents Abu Dhabi A were there to meet them and showed plenty of evidence as to warrant their place in an evenly matched contest.
 The game was very even and it was clear that it would take something special to separate the sides. That moment came when Player of the Match Michaela Nolan burst through a pack of Na Fianna defenders and nestle the ball in the back of the net, ensuring another trophy for the mantel and another step closer to a historic promotion for a club still in its tender years.
